Joker Bowie is a large fixed-blade knife, as long as 16” and comes with a leather sheath. Out of the 16” length, the blade takes up 9.75” of the length, leaving 6.25” of handle. It may be the largest knife we have ever reviewed. Let us assess it in more detail.

The CN-101 Bowie is a large classic Bowie knife with 0.196” blade stock thickness, making it ideal for chopping and heavy use, as well as all-round hunting knife. It has an extra-long cutting edge, ideal for meat preparation. It features satin finish clip point stainless steel, a high-quality vanadium-molybdenum steel that holds the edge really well. It is also easily re-sharpened when needed.

The knife comes with a well-fitted stag horn handle and a high-quality leather sheath made with bull-hide doubled-stitched with heavy thread, and stainless guards.

The Joker Bowie came in its standard branded Joker box covered inside the brown leather sheath. The knife came out with a sharp factory edge and a very fine finishing without any scratches or wear on the blade or the handle.

It was nice and shiny, and comfortable to hold in the hand. Its edge was very sharp out of the box, ready to cut through any material.

The brown leather sheath had its new leather smell, and was exceptionally clean and looked brand new. The button strap worked well and did its job to hold the knife securely inside.

The handle felt very smooth and comfortable to hold, even in large hands. It did feel heavy, but sturdy. The handle geometry felt in sync with the blade, which made it feel less bulky in the hand than it looked.

The blade on Joker Bowie features a clip point satin finish high-carbon vanadium-molybdenum stainless steel that holds an edge really well, and can easily be re-sharpened. It comes really sharp right out of the box, and with a blade stock thickness of 0.196”, gives it an incredible cutting edge strength when preparing meat and using outdoors.

The blade is a German-manufactured stainless steel used in knife industry, pharmaceuticals and kitchen knives products. It contains 15% chromium, which makes it stainless, and 0.55% carbon for hardness. It contains 1% manganese and 0.15% vanadium for increased hardness and wear resistance. Its hardness level equals 57 HRC, and is a fine-grained stainless steel. Using it on Joker Bowie makes this knife extremely wear resistant, tough, and hard.

Even though the blade comes with a hollow grind with fine grind lines visible throughout the length of the blade, it is relatively easy to sharpen. But it would not require very frequent sharpening. It also has a sharpening choil at the base of the spine. However, the exaggerated dual finger guards would not let your fingers slide down or up the blade. The absence of jimping along the spine also limits how you can hold the knife, but you can still choke it up.

There is minimal branding right onto the front side of the blade, with the Joker Bowie etched in black, and the logo along with it. The fine clip point also makes the knife’s edge holding really sharp, and it is able to punch through stuff.

The handle of Joker Bowie features a 6.25” stag horn full-tang scales with contoured length and exaggerated end. It also has subtle bends for the knuckles to fit. The handle looks relatively shorter as compared to the extra-long blade, but fits perfectly in the hand.

It also comes with a lanyard hole, which you can use to attach a lanyard to further extend the handle length. The scales are roughly textured to provide an ergonomic hold.

Stag horn is a popular choice for knives and other tools due to their unique texture and durability. It provides a natural grip that is both comfortable and secure. Stag horn is a dense and tightly matted hair, which makes it durable and long-lasting. Used in its natural form, it has a rough texture, but checker or engraving adds to its aesthetic qualities and texturing for better grip.

It is screwed together with two simple screws, also polished and finished well deep into the scales, further adding bends into the handle.

The brown leather sheath of Joker Bowie is a high-quality leather sheath with a button strap to lock the knife in. It is double-stitched and heavily threaded to keep it and the knife inside secure. It is very tough and would not wear out soon. It can very well remain durable throughout your lifetime, and your kids’.

The sheath does not come with a belt loop. The knife alone weighs 29.76 oz., so it would not be easy to carry the knife. It will weigh more with the leather sheath. And it will require a two-handed action to slide the knife out of the sheath.

Joker Bowie vs CRKT Razel

The Joker Bowie and CRKT Razel are both very unique fixed-blade knives, capable of carrying out tougher outdoor cutting tasks. The Razel comes with a chisel blade, which makes it look very much like a hammering knife. The Joker Bowie with its extra-long blade is equally capable of being used as a batoning knife. Its clip point holds exceptional edge holding and edge retention, making it capable of punching through stuff.

The CRKT Razel also comes with a hollow grind, is a full tang knife, and comes with a sheath. But Razel’s sheath is much more useful and practical than Joker Bowie’s. It comes with a pocket clip, whereas the Bowie does not come with a clip or strap to hold it onto the belt or a strap.

Both are incredibly large and bulky looking knives, but the Bowie is much larger, and costs much less than the CRKT Razel.

Joker Bowie vs Joker Nomad

Joker Bowie and Nomad are both fixed-blade knives that are incredibly strong and capable of performing tougher tasks. Both the knives are made in Spain, but the Bowie costs more than Nomad. The Nomad looks a lot like a regular knife, with a 5” blade, which is neither too short nor too long. It also comes with a satin finish, but its sheath comes with a firestarter, while the Bowie does not.

The Joker Nomad is more suited as a camping and hunting knife, while you can use the Bowie for tasks such as fishing and rope cutting, owing to its larger blade length.

The Joker Bowie is a 16” long fixed-bade knife with a blade length of 9.75”, and weighs more. It may be the largest knife we have reviewed, especially because of the extra-large blade length. However, the blade on Joker Bowie is remarkable, with a satin finish, hollow grind, and clip point with exceptional edge retention and holding. It is the perfect combination of a hard, tough and wear resistant steel.

The handle is made out of stag horn, which is very smooth, with contoured edges, and is ergonomically friendly. It is a full-tang knife with two screws with a fine polish and finish.

The knife comes with a brown leather sheath with a button lock, but no belt strap to hold it onto the belt or a strap. It requires two hands to pull out the knife, but the sheath material is very durable.
