Key Specifications of We Knife RekkeR
First Impressions and Unboxing of WE Knife RekkeR
The RekkeR comes in a WE cardboard box with black edges. Not all WE knives come in similar packaging. It depends upon the type and value of the knife. Some come in small black boxes, while others come with extra materials and bigger boxes.
RekkeR comes with the WE warranty card, a manual, stickers, and the pouch. The knife itself is carefully wrapped in a plastic sleeve and shoved inside the black nylon pouch.
The RekkeR comes out in a fine matte finish of black handle and black stonewashed blade. You can see the grind lines running along the 20CV blade. The blade comes out with a sharp factory edge right out of the box with fine reverse tanto pointed edge. It is lightweight yet able to carry out heavy EDC tasks, and holds sturdy in the hand.
The titanium scales with its black polish feels grippy and ergonomic with smooth and contoured edges. The pocket clip is also finely polished and well-placed. It also comes with a spare clip for lefties. So you can easily replace it if you are left-handed. It is configured for tip-up carry and hangs discreetly in the pocket.
The Blade of WE Knife RekkeR
WE Knives RekkeR features 1 3.63” CPM 20CV blade with a thickness of 0.13” and a reverse tanto flat grind. It has black stonewash finish protecting the blade from scratches and corrosion with a hardness level of 58-60 HRC.
Kyle Lamb has used reverse tanto blade shape on both fixed and folding knives, most notably on the Patriot Folder for Viking Tactics by Hogue Knives. The reverse tanto on the RekkeR is bigger though, measuring 3.6”. It is special because it is capable of heavy work, and the blade length higher than 3” is good for EDC knife. But because of the relatively narrow width, it does not lose the maneuverability that helps with smaller cutting chores. Since the RekkR is supposed to be an EDC knife, that can be a bit problematic.
The CPM 20CV is a great choice for an EDC knife blade. It is a high-performing metallurgy steel with impressive wear and corrosion resistance and edge retention due to high chromium levels. M390 may be a bit tougher when compared to 20CV, but 20CV has better edge retention.
The black stonewash finish protects the blade from any scratches and corroding too quickly. It does not have shine like satin finish, but has more of a matte texture. The knife also has a small finger choil that makes sharpening easier with a flat lanyard right below it at the spine that functions as a finger guard. The back of the blade also features jimping along the spine with its flat curve, allowing the thumb to hold the knife. There is a slight bend where the jimping ends and the curve of the back of the blade starts. It ends with the reverse tanto point with a sharp tip. Another good thing about reverse tanto on WE Knives RekkeR is that it has a sharp edge that allows for precise cutting. The finger guard, the jimping, and the reverse tanto allow the user to choke up the knife and use as an EDC blade.
The sculpturing around the length of the blade reflects how good the blade geometry is. It is finely machined, curved and pointed at the right edges to make it easy to hold and use. So its design reflects both form and function.
The Handle of WE Knife RekkeR
The handle of RekkeR is made out of black titanium with a length of 4.63” and handle width of 1.43”. It is 0.44” thick and has a removable tip-up pocket clip configured for left and right hand carry.
The framelock is cut into the off-side of the scales capped with requisite steel inserts. The pocket clip is not reversible, which is why WE Knives adds another left-hand friendly clip with every RekkeR.
Even with titanium capping the entire frame of the scales, the knife weighs just 3.46 ounces, enough to make it lightweight carry. The black pocket clip is well-placed and is discreet in the pocket when carrying it. It also does not create hot spots and does not take up too much space.
The scales have smooth and contoured edges, just like the blade. It is screwed together with two standard Torx screws on one side that are easy to unscrew with a Torx screwdriver to disassemble the knife. That also makes knife maintenance a lot easier. There is one screw on the other side of the scales that screws the framelock in place, accompanied by a large pivot screw.
The knife’s texture is smooth yet grippy, making it ergonomically viable. The length of 4.63” makes it easy to carry in an average-sized hand. The width of 1.43” is not too small or big for an average-sized hand. It has an extended tang and s small flat lanyard hole, just like the one on the spine. You can use it to tie a lanyard and extend the handle’s length if you have large hands. Although, it may not be required. But you can use a lanyard when using the knife for fishing or any other outdoor activities.
Deployment & Lockup of WE Knife RekkeR
The WE RekkeR is a flipper knife with framelock as its lockup. Its pivot features caged ceramic ball bearings that make the flipper a smooth action for frequent use.
You can see the thin flipper tabs protruding out from each side of the spine when the knife is open and closed. It requires slight pressure on the tabs to disengage and open the blade. Similarly, when the knife is open, there is another flipper on the blade side that disengages the blade.
The framelock is a common type of locking mechanism on folding knives featuring a frame on the lock side that is considerably thicker and covers the length of the handle. A cutout along the axis is visible on the spine of the RekkeR that creates inward pressure. When the blade is open, the framelock springs into action inwards and engages rear of the blade tang to lock the blade in place.
The flipper and the framelock are both solid and work well together. They go on many folding knives and prove themselves worthy.
Pouch of WE Knife RekkeR
The RekkeR comes with a black nylon pouch to carry the knife in. Although it is a folding knife with a pocket clip, the pouch makes it much easier to carry in the absence of pockets. Plus, it keeps the knife more safe and secure.
It opens up with a pocket cutout just like in wallets to keep the knife held in place inside. You can also use the pouch’s pocket to hang the knife in and then close the lid and zip it up. The pouch is a branded WE Knives pouch and makes carrying the knife easier.

WE Rekker vs WE Snecx Mini Buster
WE Snecx Mini Buster shares many features with RekkeR, such as a reverse tanto black stonewash finished 3.5” blade with titanium scales and caged ceramic ball bearings. It also has a slight finger choil, but the blade is thicker than RekkeR’s. The Snecx is a production knife with phosphorus bronze washers and no blade play. It also uses plain Torx screws that make it easy to disassemble the knife.
It also has a finger guard, but different than that on RekkeR. It is also a flipper knife featuring CPM 20CV blade and weighs 4 ounces. It also has a framelock as its locking mechanism that works very smoothly. However, it costs more than RekkeR. Both the knives are good EDC knives and offer almost equal utility.

WE RekkeR vs Kizer Begleiter
Unlike RekkeR, Kizer Begleiter features a tanto blade rather than reverse tanto with a satin finish. But it is a flipper knife with a framelock and the same lanyard hole as on RekkeR. Its pocket clip is configured for tip-up carry but only for the right hand. It does not come with a replaceable clip like the RekkeR. It also costs less than the RekkeR and is thinner in proportion to RekkeR.
It offers excellent cutting edge and retention with its CPM S35VN blade. But the Begleiter can perform smaller and precise cutting tasks. The RekkeR, on the other hand, can perform heavier tasks. So when it comes down to it, RekkeR is more useful as a heavy/outdoor EDC knife, while the Kizer Begleiter for regular EDC tasks.

Conclusion
WE Knife RekkeR is a good EDC knife with a unique reverse tanto stonewashed blade made of CPM 20CV, capable of carrying out larger EDC tasks. It can be difficult to perform precise cutting tasks with it, given its lack of maneuverability, but is hard and thin for its lightweight.
The titanium scales are also black with a black tip-up carry pocket clip. It is removable and replaceable for left-handed users. It has a tang and a lanyard hole, and features flipper tabs for deployment and a framelock. Both work well in conjunction with each other. The caged ceramic ball bearings make it easy to flip open and close as frequently as you would like.
We found RekkeR as a good EDC tool to add to your inventory. It is reliable, durable, easy to sharpen and maintain, and is ergonomically friendly.
